Narcotic drugs were seized in Yamethin, Taunggyi and Loilem townships, according to Myanmar Police Force.
A combined team comprising anti-drug police force searched two motorcycles driven by Khun Thein Win and Wai Tun on the earthen road between Nan Lone and Nat In villages in Yamethein Township of Mandalay Region at 10:30 am on 3 January, and seized 37.88 kg of raw opium.
Acting on a tip-off, an anti-drug force examined a motorbike driven by Win Ko Ko in Chanthar Ward of Taunggyi at 7:00 pm on the same day, and captured 1,400 stimulant pills.
As a result of investigation, the combined team raided the house of Win Ko Ko on Jade Road in Kyaungkyisu Ward in the town of Taunggyi at 9:30 pm on the same day and confiscated 321,400 stimulant tablets in the house.
In a similar incident, an anti-drug force searched a TOYOTA CROWN vehicle on Loilem-Taunggyi road near Hotint Village in Loilem Township of Shan State at 3:00 pm on 4 January, and seized 2.3 kg of Happy Water. The offenders have been prosecuted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law. — MNA
