Rural Development Department completed 90 percent of earth road construction in Yeshinma village in Gangaw Township, Gangaw district, Magway region, according to the department.

The earth road construction started in February this year with the use of K 10 million from village development fund of RDD in 2018-2019 fiscal year and K 3.45 million contributed by local people. The earth facility measures 6280 feet long, 16 feet wide and six inches thick. Director U Myo Aung, head of the Region RDD and U Win Aung, head of the District RDD inspected the road construction works being carried out yesterday.

Upon completion, the new facility will contribute to the development of education, health and social sectors of 1461 people from 350 households in the village.

The department is undertaking eight quarry road construction projects, two school building repairing works, on village library building and one drinking water supply project in 12 villages with a development fund of K 120 million and K 39.890 million contributed by the public in 2018-2019 fiscal year, according to the department.— Nyein Thu (Salin)
