An awareness talk about earthquake was held in the compound of a primary school in Anauk Phaatkan Village, Papun Township in kayin State this morning in conjunction with a disaster drill.

Officials from the Department of Disaster Management then elaborated on holding disaster drills, explained the aims of the awareness talk, discussed preventative measures and responses if a natural disaster occurs and disseminated knowledge about the risks of earthquakes.
    

Officials from the Fire Services Department then clarified “don’t and do”. The departmental staff, policemen, firefighters, volunteers, local authorities and residents were also involved in the earthquake drill.—Kyaw Wunna (IPRD)
