Eight COVID-19 positive patients being treated in the temporary hospital in the town of Shwebo in Sagaing Region were discharged from the hospital yesterday afternoon, according to the township medical superintendent Dr. Saw Thet Lya Aung.


The coronavirus patients discharged from the hospital have been identified as two Buddhist monks and two women from Bodawtaw Village, two men and two women from Nyaungbinthar Village.


The eight people will also be placed under seven-day home quarantine when they arrive in their native villages in accordance with the guidance of the Ministry of Health and Sports, said Dr. Saw Thet Lya Aung.


As of December 13, out of 139 confirmed COVID-19 positive patients in Shwebo Township, 44 patients were reportedly discharged from the hospital.
