Flood victims from wards and villages inundated by floodwaters from the Ayeyawady River were provided with relief items by the Department of Disaster Management under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement on July 16.


Officials from the department furnished 346 flood victims from 74 households from seven villages and wards in the township with K 726,600 for purchasing rice and facial masks. In addition, they provided over K 1.7 million for buying construction materials, rice and masks for flood victims from four families through ward and village administrators.    


According to observations at 9:30 a.m. today, the danger mark of Ayeyawady River is 1040 centimeters in Katha and now the water level of Ayeyawady River reached 1018 centimeters. A total of 346 households are currently sheltering at eight relief camps in the township.
