Kangyidaunk, 25 June

Officials from the township Department of Social Welfare dispensed social pension to elderly people above 85 years old in the town of Kangyidaunk, Pathein District, Ayeyawady Region on 24 June on a door to door basis.

Under this cash aid program, senior citizens above 85 years old in the town received K 60000 each including social pension and additional cash aid amid the outbreak of COVID-19 in the township.

Also presence on the occasion were MP U Soe Moe Tun of No. 1 constituency of regional Hluttaw, MP Daw Khin Saw Mu of No. 2 constituency of regional Hluttaw, the township Administrator U Win Myint and staff officer of the township Department of  Social Welfare.

There are 607 senior citizens who are eligible for social pension in Kangyidaunk Township. Other elderly people in remaining villages will be provided with cash aids via respective village-tract administrators, according to the township General Administration Department.—Nan Htike, IPRD
