A ceremony to present social pension to the elderly above 85 years old took place at Shwe Hinthar Hall of the General Administration Department in Kyaikmaraw Township, Mon State this morning.

At first, Pyithu Hluttaw Representative U Saw Kyaw Win Maung delivered an opening address. Township Administrator U Kyaw Myint then clarified the aim of the social pension. Next, officials from the Department of Social Welfare presented monthly cash provisions for 590 senior citizens above 85 years of age in the township through ward and village administrators.—Cho Myat Myat Htwe
