The Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement disbursed social pension to elderly citizens above 85 for the months of April, May and June in the Town of Mongnai, Shan State (South) this morning.

The Department of Social Welfare has been providing social pension to elderly citizens once every three months in wards and villages in Mongnai Township.

Officials from the Department of Social Welfare made a domiciliary visit to disburse social pension to 48 elderly people and gave K 30000 each to the elderly above 85 years old.

There are 83 elderly people who are eligible for social pension in Mongnai Township. Officials from the Township’s Social Welfare Department will continue to provide social pension to the remaining elderly people through relevant Village Administrators, it is learnt.—Myo Nyunt Shwe, Township IPRD
