Bago, December 9

The Electricity Supply Enterprise under the Ministry of Electricity and Energy has been making efforts to ensure sufficient distribution of power by spending the Union government’s budget and funds allocated by the local government, loans from Japan International Cooperation Agency under the National Electrification Plan (NEP).

The electrification projects were implemented in Bago Township with over Ks. 4386 million in the fiscal year 2019-2020. The ESE built power transmission lines and sub-power stations with the intention of fulfilling the increasing electricity demand of rural people. Four sub-power stations were built in Bago Township in the previous financial year to distribute electricity to households in rural areas.

In addition, electricity will be supplied to 3,167 households from 24 villages under the NEP in the near future, according to the township ESE office.
