The Social Security Board of the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population launched the Employment Injury Insurance (EII) Pilot Project in collaboration with International Labour.

Organization at Awel Metta Hotel in Yangon. At the event, Yangon Region Minister Labour and Rakhine Ethnic Affairs, U Zaw Aye Maung and Liaison Officer – Rory Mungoven ( ILO) delivered key note speeches.

Then, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population Dr. Myo Aung said that EII Pilot will be tested in Hlinethaya township and Pyi Gyi Ta Kun township, Mandalay from 1st January 2019 to December. During the trial period, it will be monitored and evaluated, so the lessons learnt from the pilot will be used in extending the project to other regions and states. They will have other benefits too.

In the second section of the event, Senior Technical Officer Ms. Mariana Infante Villarroel detailed design of EII Pilot Project and Director-General of SSB spoke of the current status of EII Pilot Project. In Q and A section, official from SSB answered the questions. —MNA  (Translated by Alphonsus)
