MEMBERS of ethnic tradi­tional culture troupes from different regions and states currently in Nay Pyi Taw to attend the 78th Anniversary of the Union Day celebration 2025 visited the well-known sites in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

 

They first visited Mar­avijaya Buddha Image, the world’s tallest sitting marble Buddha Image, situated in the Buddha Park in Dekkhinathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory.

 

The pagoda’s board of trustees explained the history of the Buddha Image with a recording video.

 

The group made cash do­nations and one of the board of trustees gave the certificates in return.

 

They observed the pagoda compound, stone inscriptions curved in marble plaques in the Romanized Language using modern machines and other religious buildings.

 

They proceeded to Nay Pyi Taw National Museum, Nation­al Landmark Garden and De­fence Services Museum.

 

The group included 47 members from the Sagaing Region, 35 from Kachin State, 33 from Kayah State, 40 from Kayin State, 32 from Chin State, 38 from Mon State, 39 from Ra­khine State and 40 from Shan State.

 

The second-day excursion will be on 7 February to Nay Pyi Taw Bodh Gaya, water fountain park, Junction Centre, Gems Museum, planetarium, Up­patasanti Pagoda and Hluttaw buildings. — MNA/KTZH
