A ceremony to provide farmland compensation to farmers whose farmlands were confiscated for construction of approach road of Sittaung Bridge (Oatphayat) was held at a hall of Pyu Township Development Committee yesterday.

At the ceremony, Bago Regional Chief Minister U Win Thein gave remarks and provided K 46.4 million of farmland compensation to a total of 19 farmers for their 11.54 acres of farmland. Next, one of the farmers spoke words of gratitude to the officials. 

The Regional Chief Minister and officials went to a monastery in the town of Zeyawady in Pyu Township and donated offerings to the Presiding Sayadaw of the monastery.

Then, the Regional Chief Minister and officials met with the local residents and they requested needs for the development in the township. Next, the Regional Chief Minister provided medical aids to the officials.
