With the aim of promoting the inter-ethnic friendship and emerging new generation of athletes, the final match of Kayin state Chief Minister’s cup U-18 men’s and women’s football took place in conjunction with prize awarding event at the Aungthanlwin football ground in the town of Hpa-an, Kayin State yesterday afternoon.
In the final game, the men’s football team representing Myawaddy beat the squad representing Hlaingbwe and was crowned the champion trophy.
Next, the awarding ceremony was held and Kayin State CM U Saw Myint Oo, officials from the state Education officer’s office and departmental officials presented prizes and cash awards to referees, officials from the Township Red-Cross Society, best players and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd winning teams respectively.
Under this prize awarding program, men’s football team Myawaddy and women’s football team Hlaingbwe which were crowned the champion trophies received Ks. 1.00 million and champion trophy each.—MNA
