Financial aid provided to affected farmers

A ceremony to provide financial aid to farmers whose crops were damaged in natural disaster was held at the Phekon township General Administration Department office in Taunggyi District yesterday morning.


At the ceremony, Shan State Kayan ethnic affairs minister Khun Aye Maung, the township administrator U Myint Lwin and assistant director Daw Hla Hla Cho from the Township Planning Department made speeches. At the ceremony, Nine corn farmers whose crops were destroyed by fall  army worms (FAW) in 2018 moonsoon were provided with K 90000 for nine acres ( at a rate of K 10000) and one insecticide sprayer.


In 2018-2019 fiscal year, affected farmers in the township were furnished with supplies worth K 3.47625 million by Shan state government, supplies worth K 1.01 million by shop owners dealing in fettilizer and insecticides, insecticide, fertilizers and insecticide sprayer plastic tanks worth K 970000 by agricultural companies including unicrop, Farm Link and Wisara, according to the Township Agricutural Department.
