A ceremony to provide cash aid to elderly people above 85 years old, pregnant women and children below two years old was held at the village hall in Ngwetaung Village, Dimawso Township, Kayah State yesterday.

First of all, Minister for Ministry of Kayah State Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Boss Ko delivered an opening speech and explained the purpose of financial aid for elderly people, pregnant women and children amid the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic in the township.

Afterwards, officials handed over cash aid to elderly people, pregnant women and children in Myoma Ward, Dimawso Village and Ngwetaung Village in the township.

Under this cash aid program, 205 senior citizens who are eligible for social pension in the township received K 60000 each including social pension and additional cash aid amid the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic, and 3663 pregnant women and children below two years old received K 30000 each for the months of January, February and March.
