Officials from Mrauk-U district Disaster Management Department provided financial assistance to victims of clashes between the government forces and AA group in Minbya and Mrauk-U Townships, Rakhine state yesterday afternoon.

Officials from Mrauk-U District DMD provided K 1.395 million to 155 people in 55 households taking refuge in a monastery and handed over K 6.408 million to 712 people in 173 households taking shelter in Myothit monastery in Aungtate ward in the town of Mrauk-U. Similarly, the officials furnished 131 victims from 34 households in a monastery in Nagara village, Minbya township with K 1.179 million towards the purchase of rice for a month, expressing words of encouragement.

The financial assistance provided yesterday to the victims in three relief camps was K 8.982 million in total.—District IPRD
