A ceremony to release fingerlings into Mahathiri Lake in Tantse, Shwebo District, Sagaing Region was conducted by Ye-U Township Department of Fisheries this morning.

On the occasion, Deputy Director from Shwebo District Department of Fisheries U Aung Than Oo, Tantse Deputy Township Administrator U Tin Moe Zaw, departmental personnel, students and local residents released a total of 150,000 fingerlings into the Mahathiri Lake.

Next, an official from the Ye-U Township Department of Fisheries clarified the purpose of the release of fingerlings. The Deputy Director from Shwebo District Department of Fisheries shared knowledge about conservation of fish species to the attendees. In addition, officials from the Township Department of Fisheries disseminated pamphlets concerning fisheries.  Myat Thit Kaung
