With the aim of increasing fish resources and promoting fish production, Kawhmu Township Department of Fisheries released fingerlings into paddy fields in Kawhmu Township, Yangon Southern District this morning.
On the occasion, MP Daw Thandar Aye of Regional Hluttaw, Township Administrator U Htet Win, officials from Township Department of Fisheries, departmental personnel, village administrators, teachers and students released 100,000 fish species into paddy fields.
The Township Department of Fisheries is annually releasing fingerlings into paddy fields in order to increase family income and to reduce the risk of pests in the paddy fields, according to an official from the Township Department of Fisheries.
