A fire that broke out in Abit Village in Mudon Township, Mon State this early morning destroyed a house, according to the Township Fire Services Department.

According to an investigation, the fire was thought to have started from the kitchen of U Maung Htaw Kyaw in the village.

Firemen from the Township Fire Services Department rushed to the scene to fight the fire with the use of five fire engines and one tanker in cooperation with auxiliary fire brigade members, and the blaze was successfully extinguished at about 3:50 am.

Fire totally destroyed the house, causing a loss of about K 75000. The authorities pressed charged against U Maung Htaw Kyaw for his negligence.—Aung Myo Thu, IPRD
