A fire broke out in the first floor of Yuzana foundation office on Bogyoke road in Seiknge ward in the town of Myeik in Taninthayi region this morning.

Shortly after receiving a report on fire, U Aung Aung Tun, head of Myeik District Fire Services Department and fire brigades dashed to the incident scene to fight the fire. Firefighters managed to put out the fire within 10 minutes with the use of 12 fire engines. The authorities ascribed an overheated safeguard attached to an air conditioner to the cause of the fire. The fire resulted in the loss of property worth K 150000.

Action is being taken against U Thet Aung Htike, person in charge of electricity in the office, it is learnt.—Khaing Htoo (IPRD)
