A fire totally destroyed two houses in Natthangwin-6 ward, Kyaukkyi Township, Taungoo district, Bago region yesterday evening.

 

The fire started from the house of U Arkar at 6:30 pm when electric wires strung above his house became getting in touch with each other due to high winds, producing sparks that fall onto the roof of the house. The fire spread to a nearby house that belonged to U Pan San, totally destroying the two houses.

 

Firemen from Kyaukkyi Fire Services Department rushed to the incident scene to put out the fire. The firemen in collaboration with local policemen and residents managed to totally extinguish the fire within 20 minutes. The fire consumed two houses and a shed, inflicting an estimated loss of K 1.2 million.

 

But no casualties were reported in the fire. Local police filed charges against U Arkar for his negligence.— Ko Thar Gyi ( Kyaukkyi)
