Mogok, 13 January

No casualties were reported after a fire broke out in Ward-2, Mogok Township in Mandalay Region, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The fire broke out at the house of a man identified as U Win Shwe, 55, at about 1:40 p.m. on 9 January. The fire is believed to have started by a cigarette dropped by nephew of the house owner named Than Tun (alias) Arr T, 37 years old. The fire had destroyed 12 nearby houses and ceased 30 minutes later.

Nephew of the house owner is being questioned over fire negligence by the local police.—MOHA
