Machanbaw, 9 July

A ceremony to open first aid training course, sponsored by International Red Cross Society and the Township Red Cross Society, was held at Guba hall GAD in Machanbaw, Puta O District, Kachin State this morning.

First of all, Township Administrator U Pyae Thein delivered an opening speech and a delegate from first aid department of IRCS Mr Gwansalo explained about the subjects to be taught to the trainees. Next, chairman of the Township Red Cross Committee U San Naing Pe Ram clarified the purpose of the training course and called on the trainees to practically apply the lessons learned in the training to look after people.

The four-day training course which will run from July 9 to 12, is being attended by 35 trainees from wards and villages in the Township.—Khun Lin Oo
