Zalun, September 4
An event to provide fingerlings to the fish breeders was held at the office of Department of Fisheries in Zalun Township, Ayeyawady Region this morning.
Also present on the occasion were Ayeyawady Region MP U Khaing Win, officials from the Department of Fisheries and fish breeders. A total of 133,800 fingerlings were provided to 18 fish breeders for 66.90 acres of fishing ponds in the township at the rate of 2,000 fingerlings for per acre. The provision of fingerlings to the fish breeders is the first of its kind under the government’s COVID-19 Economic Relief Plan (CERP).
The move is aimed to encouraging fishing farming, improving the livestock industry and ensuring fish security, according to an official from the Department of Fisheries.
