Torrential downpours hit Thanbyuzayat Township, Mawlamyine District, Mon State starting from 2 pm yesterday.

Due to the forceful rains, Mawlamyine-Thanbyuzayat route was inundated by flood and officials from Township Fire Services Department, Township Police Forces, military personnel and social organizations helped the vehicles to pass the road. The water on the road reduced at about 6 pm.

In addition, a total of 22 people from five households in low-lying areas were evacuated to post-primary school in Kyaukpaing Ward with the help of Ward Administrator and members of Fire Services Department.
