Heavy rains and flash floods claimed one life and injured three others in eastern Afghanistan's Khost province on Sunday, Kalim Gul Abid, the provincial director for Natural Disaster Management Authority, said Monday.
The rainstorms, which triggered flash floods in parts of Khost province on Sunday, killed a child and injured three others in Garbaz district, the official added.
At least 25 houses have also been destroyed in the provincial capital Khost city and other parts of Khost province due to the floods, the official said.
Natural disasters have claimed more than 150 lives and injured more than 220 others over the past three months in Afghanistan, according to Shafiullah Rahimi, a spokesman for the Natural Disaster Management Authority.
