Some flood victims from Htigyaing Township in Sagaing Region were relocated to safer areas due to floodwaters from the Ayeyawady River.
A total of 302 flood victims from 65 households were evacuated from their homes to safer locations such as monasteries, and relative’s houses. So far 1,107 flood victims from 252 families were sheltering at their relative’s houses and monasteries for fear of being inundated by floodwaters.
According to the observations at 6 a.m. today recorded by the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, the water level of Ayeyawady River in Htigyaing Township has risen to 765 centimeters about 25 centimeters above its danger mark of 740 centimeters.
