Chauk, 29 July
Three schools –two primary schools and one post-primary school—which were closed temporarily since 23 July due to flooding caused by the floodwaters from the Ayeyawady River reopened today.
A total of 203 students are studying at the closed schools where they are taught by 17 teachers. One post-primary school in Letpan Ywama Village reopened to students as the water level of the Ayeyawady River has decreased to its danger mark.
The reopened school has nine teachers plus 158 students, according to a source from the township education officer’s office.—Kyaw Moe (IPRD)
