Hsinbyukyun, 27 May
A group of people consisting of staff from the Forest Department and the township municipality, residents who love to plant trees and members of the local philanthropic association have designated sites to grow saplings in Hsinbyukyun Town, Magway Region on 26 May.
The activity is aimed at beautifying the whole town which is located in arid zone in the central Myanmar and keeping it clean. Arrangements are being made to plant 410 saplings along the main road and in the compound of the township sport grounds and schools in June under the guidance of the Forest Department.
The department also established a nursery comprising 65,000 shady saplings to beautify the environments in Salin Township and is distributing seedlings to some villages free of charge.—Soe Moe Thu (Salin)
