Four children were driwnedin a creek in Thaton Township, Mon State on 30 May, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.


Five kids ranging from seven to 15 years in age drowned while playing in a creek near Myaynigon Village, Thaton Township at about 5:45 p.m. on 30 May. Around 20 firefighters from a local fire services station rushed to the scene of accident. About two hours later, the firemen rescued a 14-year old girl and found four others dead.


The corpses were sent to a rural hospital in Thaton for autopsy. The local police launched an investigation into the deaths of four children.—
