Four people were killed in a traffic accident in PyinOoLwin Township in Mandalay Region, the Ministry of Home Affairs reported.
The fatal accident occurred between mileposts 19/3 and 19/4 on the PyinOoLwin-Mandalay Road near Nyaungpal Village, PyinOoLwin Township at about 11 a.m. on 24 March. A 22-wheeled truck driven by a man named U Tun Tun, 37, with his colleague U Kyaw Kyaw, 46; rear ended a car with two people aboard and plunged into a 30 ft. deep ravine. The accident is attributed to have been caused by the faculty braking system of the truck.
Four people were pronounced dead on the spot and an investigation into the case is ongoing by the local police.—MOHA
