A joint police squad seized massive haul of narcotic drugs in a house raid in Maungtaw Township, Rakhine State on 9 June.
Based on an anonymous tip-off and under the supervision of the head of the Maungtaw district police force Police Col Kyi Lin, a combined team consisting of policemen from anti-drug squad and local military security forces raided a building besides Maungtaw-Angumaw Road near Khayaymyaing Village, Maungtaw Township at about 9:45 a.m. They found four men inside the building and discovered 399,555 stimulant pills. The estimated value of confiscated drugs is about Ks. 800 million.
In connection with the case, arrangements are being to take action against four men identified as Han Soe, 29 years old from Maungtaw Township, Win Tun, 41 years old from MraukU Township, U Phoe Than, 50 years old from MraukU Township and Chit Nay Win, 30 years old from Myebon Township.—IPRD
