Four people were found to have been infected with coronavirus in Kutkai Township in northern Shan State on December 27, according to the Department of Public Health.
The new virus patients –three men and one woman—have recently returned from Myitkyina and Phakant in Kachin State and Myawady in Kayin State. They were placed under observation at respective quarantine centers, said Dr Wint Wint Myaing, Medical Superintendent of the township hospital.
“The new virus patients were put under observation at the quarantine centers. Their samples were sent to Muse for testing on December 26, and they were all in good health,” the medical officer added.
At present, there are six confirmed coronavirus patients in Kutkai Township and they are being treated at two public hospitals. 168 people returning from various parts of the country to Kutkai Township are being placed under observation.
