Mohnyin, December 8
Truck drivers and their assistants entering Kachin State are being tested with the use of Test Kit as to whether they are infected with the coronavirus or not at a checkpoint near Mawhe Village in Mohnyin Township.
Three truck drivers and one coworker were tested positive for the virus on December 7 and the positive-patients were admitted to Mohnyin District Hospital. The virus-patients are currently being treated at the ICU of Mohnyin Hospital. A contact tracing process for those who had close contact with the positive patients is being conducted and the suspected patients are being quarantined, according to the township assistant administrator.
As of December 7, up to 12 confirmed cases of covid-19 have been detected at the checkpoint, including the newly-infected four men. Three people have been so far discharged from the hospital and nine patients are being treated at Mohnyin Hospital.
