Lashio, November 13
Twenty nurses from various parts of Shan State (North) left Lashio for Yangon on November 12 to assist in COVID-19 prevention and control there.
Before departure for Yangon, they were given words of encouragement by senior officials and from the Department of Public Health and local authorities at the meeting room of the department in Lashio. The frontline health workers were also provided with Ks 200,000 each with financial assistance of Kanbawza Bank under the supervision of the local government.
The first batch of 20 nurses arrived in Yangon on October 1 as the first batch to help frontline health workers combat the COVID-19 prevention and control, the second batch of 21 nurses on October 10 and the third batch on November 12.
The third batch of 20 nurses will be five from Lashio, three from Muse, three from Namkham, three from Hsipaw, two from Kyaukme, two from Namtu, and two from Laukkai Townships.
