Taunggup, 2 March

Fire engulfed a fuel shop on Taunggup-Pyi road in Sedigwin village of Taunggup towhship, Rakhine state at 10:15 am today.

The fire started from a spark produced as U Tin Thein, the fuel shop owner, was trying to open a fuel tank with a metal tool. Fifteen firefighters led by  U Mya Than, head of Taunggup Myoma fire station managed to put out the fire in 30 minutes with the help of three fire engines and one water truck. No casualties were reported in the fire. No nearby buildings were also damaged.

Action is being taken against U Tin Thein according to the law.— Township IPRD
