A ceremony to hand over funds of Emerald Green Project was held in conjunction with the opening of accounting course at the Rural Development Department in Einme, Myaungmya District, Ayeyawady Region this morning.

At the ceremony, an official from the department gave opening remarks. Officials handed over K 30 million of funds of Emerald Green Project to heads of the villages that are under the development projects. Then, an accounting course was conducted at the Township Dhammayone with 42 trainees.

The Emerald Green Project was in action in 114 villages from 2014-2015 FY to first six-month budget of 2018. This fiscal year, village development projects will go to nine villages.
The Emerald Green Project is designed to ensure the emergence of private agriculture and farming industry, alleviation of poverty in rural areas and active participation of public in the developmental tasks, said an official from the Rural Development Department.
