A total of K532.53 million is estimated to be allocated to 703 members of 26 cooperative societies to run livestock breeding farms in the country, according to the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development.
The government arranged to provide 703 members of 26 cooperative societies in 24 townships of 11 regions and states to run livestock breeding businesses, said Deputy Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Myint Soe at the meeting of cooperative development and loan supervisory central committee recently held in Nay Pyi Taw.
Moreover, agricultural inputs worth K200,000 per acre for 130,100 acres will be provided to 28,610 members of 1,066 cooperative societies in 178 townships of 13 regions/states using the State Economic Promotion Fund for monsoon paddy project, State economic promotion fund for regions and states, budget and cooperatives fund.
Similarly, over K13 billion was provided to 14,363 members of 354 societies from 86 townships of 11 regions and states and three self-administered regions using the State Economic Promotion Fund to run the Emerald (Myaseinyaung) Project.
Moreover, it is estimated to provide 1,056 members of 22 societies in 20 townships of 12 regions and states using the K556.07 million budget of cooperative societies as a pilot project. — ASH/KTZH
