Bamauk, 6 October

An illegal gold miner was killed in a landslide in Bamauk Township, Sagaing Region on 5 October.

The incident took place at a gold mine near Nantthaung Creek in Nantthaung Village, Bamauk Township in Sagaing Region at about 7:30 a.m. on 5 October. Upon receiving information, a local police squad led by Police Inspector Zaw Lin Tun rushed to the scene of accident where they found a man identified as Kalar dead.

The man is believed to have died in the landslide and an investigation into the case is ongoing by the police.
