THE government of Myanmar manages the combined team comprising security forces, ad­ministrative bodies and local au­thorities to raid illegal buildings in Shwe Kokko and KK Park areas, where telecom fraud and online gambling activities are operated, and systemati­cally dismantle the confiscated materials and illegal buildings used in the online scams and gambling activities.

Yesterday, the combined team dissolved 26 more illegal buildings – five one-storey build­ings, 15 two-storey buildings, four three-storey buildings, and two five-storey buildings used in telecom fraud and on­line gambling activities in the Myawady-Maethawtalay (KK Park) area. Therefore, a total updated number of 610 build­ings out of 635 illegal buildings have been demolished in Sec­tion 2 of the KK Park area.

To destroy the illegal build­ings within Section 3 of KK Park area, these buildings were de­molished using machinery and fire barrels starting from 14 De­cember, and as of yesterday, five more four-storey buildings have been destroyed, and a total of 106 buildings have been totally destroyed.

The government considers the eradication of telecom fraud and online gambling crimes as a national responsibility and, to ensure that such activities can no longer operate within Myan­mar, will continue its efforts in coordination not only with do­mestic forces but also with the governments of neighbouring countries. — MNA/MKKS
