Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido says he will work with Japan to address power outages that have continued across the country.
In a speech at an anti-government demonstration on Saturday, he said Japan told his camp it is prepared to make investments to improve the situation.
Guaido also said the Japanese government blamed the government of President Nicolas Maduro for failing to carry out any maintenance work on power operations. He added there are many electricity-related companies in Japan.
Guaido, the head of the national assembly, has declared himself interim president. He has support from the United States.—NHK
