No casualties were reported after strong winds swept through some villages in Kyunhla, Indaw, Kalewa, Wuntho, Katha, Htigyaing and Kawlin Townships in Sagaing Region on 18 March.

The gusty winds collapsed 2 houses, damaged about 100 houses and flipped over five religious buildings. Officials from the Department of Disaster Management under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement rushed to the affected areas and provided construction materials and relief supplies worth over Ks. 4.6 million to the storm victims on 19 March.

Arrangements are being made by officials from the DDM to furnish the storm victims with necessary assistance.—SWRR
