Hakha, September 11

 

Landslides triggered by heavy rains caused temporary halt of road section between 179 km and 180 km on Hakha-Falam-Kalay road in Hakha township, Chin state this morning. 

 

Due to heavy rains that poured down in the early morning of September 11, a lot of rock stones slid down onto the road, with vehicles blocked on either side of the road.  Personnel from the Township Road Department started to clear away the obstacles on the road using heavy machines and  labor. 

 

The road was reopen for small vehicles starting from 10 am and the department is continuing clearance works to provide vehicles of all sizes access to the road.
