Some 60000 stimulant tablets were seized from a passenger bus which was on its way from Yangon to Sittway in Ngaphe Township, Magway Region on 9 March.
A combined team led by Police Inspector Aung Myint from Magway Anti-Drugs Squad-15, Police Major Win Maung, commander of Ngaphe Township MPF, Forest Police Sub-inspector Khin Maung Tint together witnesses on 9 March searched a passenger bus driven by Yin Htway, 22, of No. 3 Ward, North Dagon Township, Yangon Region with a conductor at the checkpoint of Natyaygan ( Pyinwa) and confiscated 59500 WY brand stimulant tablets weighing 5950 grams worth K 29.75 million in a white polythene bag of Hla Thein, 24, of Pauktaw, Rakhine State.
The authorities filed a charge against Hla Thein under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law. — Kyaw Zeya
