One person was killed seven others injured after a 12-wheeled truck collided with a light truck in Thanbyuzayet Township, Mon State yesterday afternoon.
    

 

Upon receiving information about the traffic accident, a police squad from the Myoma police station went to the scene of the accident to assess the situation. A 12-wheeled truck bound for Ye Township from Yangon collided with a light truck coming from an opposite direction between mileposts 49/4 and 49/5 on the Thanbyuzayet-Ye Road at about 1 p.m. on 4 May after the truck skidded out of control due to rainwaters. A man identified as Lawi Aung from the light truck died on the spot and 7 people were hurt seriously in the incident.

 


The injured people were transferred to a public hospital from a nearby hospital. In connection with the case, the truck driver identified as Zaw Win, 37 years old has been taken action over reckless driving by the local police station.—IPRD
