Hpa-an, 25 December
Two people have died and two others sustained minor injured in a head-on collision in Hpa-an, the capital city of Kayin State, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
A six-wheeled truck driven by a man named U Win Myint Oo, 44 years old with 19 people aboard collided with a vehicle coming from an opposite direction and carrying workers from a cement plant between mileposts 21/2 and 21/4 on the Hpa-an-Thaton Road near Hlagar Village at about 11 p.m. on 22 December. Two workers from the vehicle were pronounced dead on the spot and two others were injured in the incident.
Among the injured people, one man was severely injured and they were sent to a public hospital in Hpa-an. The drivers from both vehicles are being questioned for reckless driving by the local police.—MOHA
