A 20-member medical team headed by an anesthesiologist from Northen Shan State departed Lashio for Yangon on December 10 to assist the struggling healthcare workers in preventing and controlling COVID-19 pandemic there.
Before departure for Yangon, they were given words of encouragement by senior officials and from the Department of Public Health and local authorities at the meeting room of the department in Lashio. The frontline health workers were also provided with Ks 200,000 each by Kanbawza Bank under the supervision of the local government.
The first batch of 20 nurses arrived in Yangon on October 1 as the first batch to help frontline health workers combat the COVID-19 prevention and control, the second batch of 21 nurses on October 10 and the third batch on November 12.
The fourth batch of 20 nurses are two each from Nawnkhio, Hopang, Kutkai, Mongyal, Tangyan, Momeik, Theinni, Mabein, Kunlon and Laukkai and one from Namhsan Townships.
