THE Hlawga Nature Park near Yangon has seen hundreds of visitors every day during this year’s dry season, with the number of visitors significantly higher on public holidays, according to an official of the park.
Since the Thadingyut, which is the start of the open and travelling season, the park has seen a significant increase in visits by families and groups of friends during public holidays and weekends, he said.
“As the non-rainy season has arrived, there are many visitors to the park. There are birdwatchers and families during school holidays. There are fewer visitors on weekdays, and more on weekends and holidays – around a few hundred visitors every day and some thousands per month,” he said.
The park is open from 8 am to 5 pm every day, and ticket sales close at 4 pm.
Those who want to learn about bird watching or just for fun can choose Hlawga Birdwatching, while sports enthusiasts can enjoy trekking, adventure boating, and SUP riding together with families and friends. The park has invited the public to visit the Hlawga Nature Park, which is easily accessible and is the closest place to the Yangon metro to experience the natural atmosphere. — MT/ZN
