In commemoration of International Day of Older Persons which falls on October 1, departmental staff and members of social organizations paid a domiciliary visit to pay respects to Daw Bawi Rem, 104, in ward-2 in the town Rikhawdar, Falam District, Chin State yesterday and presented remembrance gifts to her.
First of all, an official from the Immigration and National Registration Department said prayers and gave blessing for her. This was followed by the presentation of gifts, consumer goods and cash assistance to her by officials.
Afterwards, Daw Bawi Rem spoke words of thanks to officials and then Dr San Ma and nurses from Rikhawdar Station Hospital provided treatment to her.
Also present on the occasion were officials from the town’s General Administration Department, Development Affairs Committee, Maternal and Child Welfare Association and members of Women’s Affairs Association, wards and community leaders.
Daw Bawi Rem was born in 1915 in Thuman Village in Falam Township. Now, She lives in Rikhawdar Town.—Rikhawdar IPRD
