A tragic house fire in Hakha, Chin State, claimed the life of a woman late on the night of June 5. The blaze, reportedly started by a candle, broke out at the home of U Ram Cung around 10:30 p.m.
Firefighters from the Hakha District Fire Services Department reacted quickly when the fire broke out. Their team was led by the department's chief, U Than Htwe, along with two senior officers named U Run Dun Thang and U Thang Chin Hau. Together, they organized and led the emergency response to the house fire. One fire engine and a water tanker were dispatched to the scene, and the fire was brought under control by 11:20 p.m.
The fire completely destroyed the home of U Ram Cung and tragically killed his adopted daughter, Daw Ma Sein, 35. According to the Hakha District Fire Services Department, the fire was contained and did not spread to neighboring houses. The cause was confirmed to be a candle.— District IPRD
